Sharks

Man, have I had my fill of shark experts lately. You wouldn’t be shocked to see a bear in the woods, right? Please know that what might be Fake News about the “beach being closed” is MAYBE…….a “temporary restriction on swimming” and NOT NOT NOT……the beach closed. And that was because someone “may” have seen “something” at Overlook……
See you at the Inn…..

Live Music

Just a few upcoming dates to be aware of.

6-16 Wiggum (Classic rock)
6-23 Acoustic Angry Alice (not sure what to expect)
7-1 The Urge (’nuff said)

Hope to see you!

Spring in NY

Well, I guess it’s at least nice to have actual SNOW off the radar. The temps are creeping towards actual Spring and the marshes are turning green. Fluke, flounder, bass and weakfish are all being taken locally. The osprey are abundant. The water is on at the dock and the bathrooms are open daily. The barriers have been removed from the underpass. That was one hell of a winter but we’ve turned the page. Looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces and lots of new ones.

Gilgo Is Open

Yet again it’s time for the annual “Fake News” that you hear about. It is the GILGO TRUCK PATH that is closed, not Gilgo Beach nor the Gilgo Beach Inn. There are efforts in motion to dump sand on the east end of Gilgo Beach (by the old Coast Guard Station) and then dredge the entire area in the fall. I’ll keep you posted, but we will be open and look forward to another fun season.
