Dredging, Bike Path

Hi all, time for a mid winter update. I’m happy to share that the dredge equipment is nearing Gilgo beach (now at the old Coast Guard Station heading west.) We are really looking forward to a much needed beach replenishment for the upcoming 2019 Summer. Also, work on the final section of the bike path that will connect TOBAY to Captree will commence this summer! That means unobstructed bike access from Wantagh park alllllllllll the way to Captree State park! I don’t even know how many miles that is, but it’s a lot! Stay warm!

October Chill

I have to say that I am happy to have that hot, humid air gone, but this chill is something! Have no fear. The off shore winds have made for clean swells, started the Bass migration and even brought down migrating birds by the thousands to watch. The GBI is still open daily when it’s not raining! General hours are 10am-7pm and maybe earlier not he weekends if it’s nice.

Halloween Party

The Gilgo Beach Inn’s Halloween Party will be held on Sunday 10/28 with an (unusual) rain date of the day BEFORE, Saturday 10/27.
We will have a 1pm start so bring a favorite, signature dish to share with each other. Drink specials and maybe a band if weather allows.

Bunger Surf Contest 9-30

Hi All,
Despite this lousy Friday (and btw we should be open for happy hour) the weekend looks beautiful with clear conditions, off shore winds and a ridable swell. See you at the Inn.
